What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a normal link to a product that also carries a tracking ID. The ID tells the store that a visit came from us. Our links go directly to the product on amazon.com.

What "(paid link)" means

Every post that links to Amazon has the words "(paid link)" right after the link. It means the link carries our tracking ID. Once our Amazon Associates application is approved, we may earn a commission if you buy through that link.

How commissions work

Once we are approved, this is how it is meant to work. You click a link with our tracking ID. If you then buy within Amazon's attribution window, we may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases. This can include other items bought in the same shopping session.

  • It does not change the price you pay.
  • Commission rates vary by category.
  • Returned or canceled orders do not earn commissions.

Until we are approved, we do not describe ourselves as an Amazon Associate, and we have not been paid any commissions.

What we don't promise

Prices and availability change, and a posted message cannot update itself. So our posts do not show prices or discount percentages. The current price and availability are on Amazon.

We do not guarantee that a product will save you money. Check the price on Amazon before you buy. Our guide to spotting a fake deal can help.

We also do not invent reviews or testimonials, use fake urgency, pay to promote posts that contain affiliate links, or buy through our own links.
